Each year at Maritrends, the annual convention of the Passenger Vessel Association, the PVF organizes the Region Competition. This event has proved to be a wonderful team building experience where all five regions competes against each other (Great Lakes, Original Colonies, Rivers, Southeast & Western). The events have been a Deck Hand Olympics, Region Feud, Tugg of War, Inflatable Buoyant Apparatus (IBA) drill, and Hospitality Olympics, etc.
Each region fields a team of 20 to compete, entry fee is $100 per team member. Regions are awarded handicaps reflective of completion of a full 20 person paid roster.
This annual region competition is a wonderful team building experience, a source of great entertainment to spectators and most important benefits the many great works of the PVF.
