Rodney Fair

HeadShot-RodneyRod Fair has owned and operated many different businesses over the past 40+ years. Starting out in the auto body repair business in 1973, owning and setting up an Auto Safety Center in 1974 and investing into and becoming a partner in Travel Systems LTD, a Ground Travel Incentive business in Lake Tahoe Nevada the same year. In 1975 Travel Systems LTD purchased the Passenger Vessel “M. S. Dixie” operating on Lake Tahoe. In 1987 Travel Systems purchased Lake Mead Ferry Service a small Tour boat operation at Lake Mead. In 1991 Rod became president and CEO of Lake Mead Ferry Service. Travel Systems had 2 passenger vessels built. The “Desert Princess” a 300 Passenger Sternwheeler for Lake Mead in 1991 and the “M. S. Dixie Too” a 650 Passenger Sternwheeler in 1994.

During these same years Rod has owned and operated a Grayline Tour and Charter Bus Company, An Interstate bus company along with a Intrastate Line operation. Purchasing a small Manufacturing firm in 1981. He has held many several seats on the board of small corporations in Reno, Nevada.

Born and Raised in Lansing, Michigan attending the University of Arizona in Tucson, Rod was hired into the Management Program of Avis Rent A Car, later transferring with them as District Manager in Reno, Nevada.

He has been heavily involved in the Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce and the Passenger Vessel Association over the years. Currently retired, residing in Boulder City, Nevada in the Winter months, and Polson, Montana the balance of the year.

Rod has been on the Board of the Passenger Vessel Foundation for the past several years.
